Students’ television and radio complex
Almaty, September 09 2009, Khabar - A student television and radio broadcasting complex has opened at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Now, future journalists will be able to combine theory with practice. They will be broadcasting their own programs on the university-wide cable channel. There is state-of-the-art digital equipment at the student television complex, such as video cameras, editing blocks, and computers. There is also a news studio. News will be broadcast in both Kazakh and Russian. Novice journalists will reveal everything about the university’s life.
Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, rector of al-Farabi Kazakh National University:
- The creation of such a telecasting studio enables us to fulfill the head of state’s task today, as only young people understand our students and our youth better than anyone else.
The planed target audience of the complex is all the largest higher education institutions of Almaty.
Ayazbi Beisenkulov, head of television and radio department:
- TV display windows and monitors will be installed in all the corridors and passageways at such universities as the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh National Technical University, Kazakh-British Technical University and KIMEP.
Journalists of the “El Arna” television channel will show their assistance to students. A new project called “Freshmen” where young people will tell about themselves will be launched this season. It is being planned that many materials will be generated specifically at this television and radio complex.
