General conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency
Vienna, September 09 2009, Khabar - There is less than a week left before the opening of the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.
Representatives of 150 member-states of IAEA will assemble for this forum. The Kazakhstani delegation is expected to take part in it as well. Kazakhstan became the member of this authoritative international organization in 1993 and is making a valuable contribution to the reinforcement of both nuclear and radiation security in the world. A Kazakhstani citizen Dostai Ramankulov has been working as an inspector for international guarantees at the IAEA office in Vienna for 11 years so far. The team directed the raised funds to charity by creating a fund for the fight against cancerous diseases in the countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

- Kazakhstan is said to be a special engine in non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. As you know, Kazakhstan took up nuclear disarmament on the President’s initiative and today initiatives in the area of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons are being put forward by our country. Many of them are being hailed by the international community. And in my opinion Kazakhstan can definitely be referred to as a leader of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons among the Central Asian countries.
Dostai Ramankulov can rarely be found at the Vienna office. He conducts inspection checks at nuclear facilities in various countries. The security and the effective system of guarantees in the area of non-dissemination of nuclear arms depend on his research.

- We don’t forget about our homeland while being in the foreign country. We are keeping track of events there and rejoice at accomplishments of our country which are quite impressive. I still love my country and wish it well-being, prosperity and peace.
The Kazakhstani delegation is planning to sign a framework program on technical cooperation with IAEA for the period of 2010-2015 during the work at the general conference.
