Kazakh-Russian youth forum

Orenburg, September 10, 2009 (Khabar) - Kazakh-Russian forum of young people entitled “Us plus Us” is held in Orenburg. More than 100 people have taken part into this forum. Issues of development of youth politics, science, culture and art were brought for discussion. Youth organizations of both Kazakhstan and Russia are concerned about the issue of problem teenagers as well.

Anzhelika Isayeva, forum participant, Russia:
- There are a large number of problems in Russia including extremism and the dependence of young people on drugs and alcohol and above all, unemployment. These problems must be solved both by members of parliament and young people themselves. The settlement of these issues is up to everyone and every single person who is not indifferent to them has to take part in such events.

The problem of the Ural River was discussed at the youth forum as well. A meeting of heads of Kazakhstan and Russian will be hosted by Orenburg on the 11th of September. Representatives of youth organizations passed an address to both presidents where they asked to support suggestions of the participants of the 13th international historical and cultural ecological expedition called “Zhaiyk-Ural” on the creation of a fund for the river’s conservation.

Samigolla Orazov, mayor of Uralsk:
- There was a heated discussion and exchange of opinions of this problem here yesterday. A request to both presidents, the meeting of which will be held in Orenburg, was formed as a result. We hope that it will take effect and an inter-state agreement will be approved.

At the conclusion of the forum, the mayor of Uralsk Samigolla Orazov suggested that the second Kazak-Russian youth forum should be held in Uralsk next year.
