“China has become closer to you”

Almaty, September 11, 2009 (Khabar) - A twenty-four-hour broadcasting of the CCTV international television channel of the Chinese Central television has started with words saying “China has become closer to you”. The transmission is being conducted through Chinese communication satellites. The TV relaying is expected to cover the Asian-pacific region, the Middle East and Europe. However, people from CIS countries and Baltic States will form the major part of viewership. Almaty residents already have access to Chinese television via the satellite communication service, in particular the Xinjiang channel which is broadcasted in the Kazakh language. Kazakhstani compatriots describe traditions and social life of the country they live in. News programs are planned to be updated every hour. Entertaining and cultural-informative programs will be aired as well. The overseas broadcast of the Chinese television will be carried out in six languages with the launch of the new channel including English, French, Spanish and Arabic.
