MALAYSIAN KING GIVES AID TO THE POOR

KUALA TERENGGANU (Malaysia), Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King Tuanku
Mizan Zainal Abidin and his consort Tuanku Nur Zahirah Friday attended a
ceremony to give aid to poor people at the Convention Centre of the Islamic
Civilisation Park here.

At the event, organised by the Sultan Mizan Royal Foundation and the Tuanku
Nur Zahirah Foundation, 346 poor people made up of the elderly, students,
weavers and single mothers were given aid in conjunction with Hari Raya.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin gave aid to 310 elderly persons and students
while Tuanku Nur Zahirah gave aid to 36 weavers and single mothers.

Also at the ceremony were members of the Regency Advisory Council, the state
assembly speaker Tengku Putera Tengku Awang and state secretary Mokhtar Nong.
