INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY MARKED IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, September 16 (AzerTAc). Educational Center for Youth held a seminar on occasion of the International Day of Democracy.
Aim of the seminar is to popularize values of democracy among the youth, attract young generation to the democratic processes taking place in the country.
Head of the center Elnur Akhundov briefed about history and significance of this day. He underlined that democracy is an important attribute in ensuring respect for human rights and freedoms, peace and security.
United Nations adopted September 15th as International Day of Democracy.
