ANKARA OPERA AND BALLET THEATER STAGES “KOROGLU”

Baku, 17 September (AzerTAc). After sharing glory in Kirgizstan and Kazakhstan, “Koroglu” opera by great Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibeyli was put on stage at the Opera and Ballet Theater of Ankara. Ankara Theater’s production was realized within the framework of TURKSOY project.
Gorgeous performance featuring 265 voices from five countries was supported by TURKSOY, Turkish Cabinet’s Culture Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey and Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan to celebrate the 15th anniversary of TURKSOY. New production of “Koroglu” was directed by Professor at Turkey’s Gazi University Aflatun Nematzade and conducted by Rauf Abdullayev. Azerbaijani singer Zemfira Ismaylova performed Nigar’s party.
Turkish premiere of “Koroglu” was attended by the minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Ertogrul Gunay, Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Turkey Zakir Hashimov, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov and others. Final production of “Koroglu” within the project of TURKSOY is scheduled for September 18 in Baku.
