Russian Patriarch to visit Belarus

MINSK, September 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Patriarch Kirill will begin
on Friday a four-day visit to Belarus where Orthodox Christians comprise
80 percent of the believers.
The patriarch will visit Minsk, Polotsk and Vitebsk and is expected to
meet Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"We hope the visit of His Holiness will refresh the moods of the
people and remind them of the high Christian values," the Belarussian
exarchate said.
Commissioner for religion and nationalities Leonid Gulyako said Kirill'
s visit "will be a great honor and holiday for the Belarussian people."
