Khasavyurt district administration chief killed in Moscow - SKP.



MOSCOW, September 28 (Itar-Tass) -- Chief of the Moscow Investigation
Department of the Prosecutor General's Office Investigation Committee
(SKP) Anatoly Bagmet confirmed that chief of Dagestan's Khasavyurt
district administration Alimsultan Alkhamatov was killed in Moscow on
Sunday evening.

"He was gunned down together with a bodyguard. The bodyguard survived.
At least four pieces of firearms, including three submachine guns - two
submachine guns Kedr, were found at the crime scene," he said.
"The driver of a vehicle, by which the assassins escaped, was
detained," he added.
A criminal case was instituted for murder committed by a group of
people under a preliminary conspiracy, attempted murder of two and more
people and the illegal storage of weapons, Bagmet said.
"During a special interception plan introduced in the city after the
murder the police managed to block the car carrying the suspects," a
Moscow police source told Itar-Tass. However, only the driver was
detained, the source said. "Three men inside the Mercedes car escaped. The
search operation for them is underway," the source said.
According to some reports, the criminals are presumably natives of
Dagestan.
The investigators assumed that a contract killer and an accomplice are
involved in the murder. One of the preliminary versions is that the murder
is linked with the professional activity of the victim. The special
interception plan is introduced in the city.
The Moscow law enforcement agencies established direct contact with
their Dagestani colleagues.
Unidentified killers shot down the driver and the passenger of a
Mercedes car at about 20.15 Moscow time at 21/1, Novocheryomushenskaya
Street in the southwest of Moscow. One of the injured men died on the way
to the hospital. According to his identity cards he was identified as
chief of the Khasavyurt district administration Alimsultan Alkhamatov, the
press service of the Russian Interior Ministry confirmed. His bodyguard
was hospitalised.

.No casualties in fire at Ingushetia's Ekazhevo admin chief house.

NAZRAN, September 28 (Itar-Tass) -- A house, where chief of Ingushetia'
s Ekazhevo administration Nuradin Ekazhev lives, came under fire at about
00.05 Moscow time on Monday.
The house came under automatic fire. No one was injured; the house was
slightly damaged.
The investigating group came to the incident site, the criminals are
under search, a source in Ingushetia's Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass.

.Gazprom CEO to launch construction of 2 Olympic sites.

KRASNODAR, September 28 (Itar-Tass) -- Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller will
launch the construction of two Olympic sites - a
Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline and an Adler thermal power plant
in the Krasnodar Territory on Monday.
The Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline with its greater section
laying on the Black Sea bottom will provide for steady and continuous gas
supplies of the resort area on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus and
will improve the gas provision of Sochi, which is the capital of the 2014
Winter Olympics.
Meanwhile, gas supplies for thermal and electric power generation will
stabilize the ecological situation in the region.
The gas pipeline, which will have been built next year, will be 177
kilometres long, including 159 kilometres running on the Black Sea bottom.
The construction of an Adler thermal power plant in the Imereti Valley
and of a Tuapse thermal power plant with their aggregate capacity reaching
510 MW, as well as an increased capacity of the Sochi thermal power plant,
the reconstruction of the Krasnaya Polyana hydropower plant and the
construction of a cascade of hydropower plants on the Mzymta River will
provide for Sochi's electric power needs. The electric power demand will
have doubled in Sochi by the Olympics in 2014 to 1,076 MW and to 1,127 MW
by 2020.
