Medvedev sure of excellent prospects of Russia-China relations

MOSCOW, October 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
addressed a congratulatory message to President of the People's Republic
of China Hu Jintao in connection with the 60th anniversary of the
foundation of the PRC and the establishment of diplomatic relations
between the two countries.
According to the Russian president's press service, the message says,
in part: "It is symbolic that at the same time with the jubilee of the PRC
we observe, jointly with our Chinese friends, the 60th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations. These events opened a new epoch in
universal history, influencing radically the look of the world today."
Medvedev stressed, "Over the past years the Chinese people achieves
outstanding results in the social and economic development of the country
and consolidation of its prestige on the world arena. The PRC today is an
influential power, making large contribution to the ensurance of
international stability. Russia is sincerely glad to successes of the
friendly China in advancing along the road of reforms and modernisation."
Describing the bilateral relations, the Russian president notes:
"Traditions of friendship and goodneighbourly relations between our
peoples have stood the test of times. Relations between Russia and China
are now at a high level of strategic partnership. The political, economic
and humanitarian interaction develops dynamically, consolidating the
mainstays of friendly ties and being beneficial to citizens of our
countries. The deepening of mutual confidence offers an opportunity for
successful long-term cooperation in a wide range of directions,
implementing unprecedented projects, such as the National Years of Russia
and China, the Year of the Russian Language now conducted in China and the
Year of the Chinese language in Russia planned for 2010. Interaction in
international affairs expanded considerably to become an important factor
of global and regional security and reliable support for the contemporary
multi-polar world order."
In his message the Russian president expresses certainty of durability
of goodneighbourly friendly relations between Russia and China and their
excellent prospects.
