"In self-defense, I swung at some of them, but quickly
went down beneath a rain of blows on my head, back, arms,
thighs, shins, buttocks and ankles. The beating continued for
some time after I had fallen," he claimed.

He said he was taken to All India Institute of Medical
Science (AIIMS) but was not allowed to call US embassy despite
repeated requests.

However, police said it has not received any complaint
from Elliot. "We have heard from media about the allegations.
We conducted a probe but found nothing to substantiate his
