Military chiefs to hold conference on Chinese incursions
New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) In the backdrop of reported
Chinese incursions in Ladakh and Northeast, the Indian armed
forces will hold a two-day Unified Commanders' Conference
beginning October 20.
The Conference would be attended by the three services
chiefs along with all the commanders of the Army, Navy and the
Air Force. Senior officials of the Integrated Defence Staff
including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Commander, Strategic
forces Commander will also participate in it, defence ministry
officials said.
The military commanders are expected to discuss various
issues including the incursions by the Chinese troops and the
steps taken to increase military preparedness in the region
during the two-day meeting, they added.
The Conference is also likely to discuss other issues
such as the strengthening of coastal security, acquisition of
equipment for armed forces and personnel-related issues.
