I don't consider myself a star wife, says Maria Goretti
Kripa Krishnan
New Delhi, Oct 15 (PTI) She was MTV's 'It' girl and
when Maria Goretti decided to give it all up to set up house
with actor Arshad Warsi, it raised many eyebrows with people
accusing her of giving up a career to become a star wife.
But Goretti who is making a comeback with the show 'Do
It Sweet' which is airing on NDTV Good Times, says that she
leads a very normal life as a mother and wife and prefers
to keep away from the spotlight.
"I don't consider myself a star wife. Me and my
husband are like any other couple and I lead a very normal
life," Goretti told PTI.
The former VJ will be back on TV after a gap of six
years with the show, which sees her cooking up delectable
desserts, along with chef Vicky Ratnani.
"I started cooking and experimenting with food some
years ago, to sort of please my kids. And when the show was
offered to me I immediately said yes because I love desserts
and the show offers it's viewers guilt free treats, low on
calorie, but equally yummy and it's great fun," said the host.
Goretti says that her children, Zeke Zidaan, 5 and
Renee, 2 are sure to be bewildered when they see her on TV.
"They have never seen me on TV, though they know that
their dad is an actor. So it might be weird for them. It will
be like, 'Mom you are on TV'," said Goretti who had made an
appearance with her son in the film 'Salaam Namaste' and also
acted in 'Raghu Romeo' where she played a soap star. (MORE)
