Special tribunal to disburse compensation to Mathura victims

Mathura, Oct 21 (PTI) A special tribunal will be set
up soon to disburse compensation to those victims of Mathura
train mishap who have not filed claims yet, Minister of State
for Railways E Ahamed said Wednesday.
Ahamed, who visited the accident spot in India's
northern state of Uttar Pradesh, said the mishap was "very
shocking" and that the Railways will have to concentrate more
on safety measures.
"We have disbursed compensation to some people. We
expect that some people may come after some time. For this
purpose, a special claim tribunal will be set up later," the
minister told PTI.
He said safety is a "prime concern" for the Railways
and the government would everything possible to ensure that
such incidents do not happen in future.
"We will examine the entire matter very carefully and
take appropriate action," he said. The Army has extended help
in rescue operation and the local people have also chipped in,
