BANGALORE, October 27 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia, India and China are
interested in participating in international efforts to restore stability
in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday on
the results of a tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia,
India and China in Bangalore.
"We are interested in continuing the participation in international
efforts to restore stability in Afghanistan, remove the drug threat and
restore the socio-economic structure in this country," the Russian
minister said. "We are not indifferent to what is happening in this
friendly country."
Lavrov informed that during today's meeting the sides discussed the
problem of combating drug trafficking. They paid special attention to the
situation around Afghanistan. "The three countries have a general opinion
regarding the fact that it is necessary to build up efforts of the
international community in the fight with drug trafficking," the Russian
foreign minister stressed.
