Oil spill response centre put into operation
Hanoi (VNA) – An oil spill response centre has been put into operation in order to timely cope with possible oil spills in areas from northeastern Quang Ninh to central Quang binh province.
Company No. 128 under the Naval Service announced the Ministry of Defence’s
decision on the establishment of the northern oil spill response centre on
October 26.
The centre will coordinate with its counterparts in the central and southern
regions to address oil spill problems in addition to other activities such as
rescue, oil tanker cleaning, oil-contaminated waste treatment and dealing with
problems at ports and drilling rigs.-Enditem
