2010 STATE BUDGET DISCUSSIONS UNDERWAY IN AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT

Baku, 4 November (AzerTAc). The joint session of parliament`s science and education, culture, regional affairs committees today discussed the State Budget Bill for 2010.
The session was addressed by committee chairman Shamsaddin Hajiyev, Finance Ministry`s official Fazil Farajov, economic development ministry`s department chief Adalet Muradov, deputy minister of education Elmar Gasimov, who have estimated the budget as socially justified.
As earlier stated, the revenue and expenditure of Azerbaijan’s state budget for 2010 are predicted at AZN 10 015 million and AZN 11 264 million respectively with a budget deficit of AZN 1 249 million.
Under the bill, the main sources of the budget revenues are the State Oil Fund (AZN 4 915 million), VAT (AZN 1 876 million), corporate profit tax (AZN 1 096 million), individual income tax (AZN 680 million), excise tax (AZN 552 million).
The public capital investment accounts for AZN 3 549 million of the budgetary expenditures.
The discussions were joined by vice-speaker Bahar Muradova, committee chairmen, MPs and governmental officials.
