AZERBAIJANI REP BECOMES INTERNATIONAL JUDGE OF CHESS COMPOSITIONS
Baku, November 4 (AzerTAc). Representative of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mikhail Hlinka of Slovakia have been appointed international judges of chess compositions for endgame studies at the 52nd World Congress of Chess Composition and 33rd World Chess Solving Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Uri Avner (Israel) and Andrej Selivanov (Russia) became grandmasters for chess composition while Eddy van Beers (Belgium) and Vladimir Podinic (Serbia) international grandmasters for solving.
The next congress will take place in Crete (Greece) in October 2010. Japan submitted its bid for hosting 2011 congress.
