Four die in Stavropol Territory bus crash.

YESSENTUKI (Stavropol Territory), November 5 (Itar-Tass) - A criminal
case has been opened in the Stavropol Territory over the bus crash, in
which four people died and another 18 were injured.
The case was opened over "violation of traffic rules which resulted in
the death of two or more people," an official at the investigations
department in the town of Budyonnovsk told Itar-Tass.
"A group of investigations is working at the scene," the official said.
The report on the road accident came to the regional emergency
situations department at around 19:05, Moscow time on Wednesday. The bus
was en route from Dagestan's Khasavyurt toward wholesale markets of
Pyatigorsk.
According to preliminary information, a tire burst at the 16th
kilometer of the Budyonnovsk-Achikulak highway. As a result, the bus
overturned, killing four people, including the driver.
All the injured passengers were rushed to the Budyonnovsk hospital.
Preliminary reports said there were up to 30 people in the bus.
Doctors at the Budyonnovsk hospital said two victims were in serious
condition.
"In all, 18 people have been hospitalized; of those, two have serious
injuries; they are in serious condition," chief doctor Svetlana Bezhenova
said.
The injuries are largely fractures, bruises and cranial wounds," she
added.
According to the chief doctor, the hospital has all the necessary
equipment and medicines to treat the patients.
"We have our own neuro-surgery department, skilled specialists, so we
do not require assistance of our colleagues," Bezhenova said.
A woman among the injured passengers prematurely gave birth to a girl.
The doctors had to resort to caesarean section due to the complications
caused by the road accident.
"Specialists are monitoring the condition of the mother and her
child," Bezhenova said.
