NEW YORK HOSTS CONFERENCE MARKING 90th ANNIVERSARY OF AZERBAIJAN DIPLOMACY

New York, November 6 (AzerTAc). New York`s Columbia University hosted a conference entitled “Azerbaijan in the 21st century: prospects and challenges” to mark the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s diplomacy.
Attendees to the event included Deputy FM of the country Araz Azimov, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev, the country`s ambassador to US Yashar Aliyev, professors Timothy Frye and Stephen Sestanovich.
The event heard reports on “Azerbaijan`s security policy in the changing environment”, “Leading way to independent, whole, prosperous and democratic Azerbaijan” and “Azerbaijan-USA relations”.
Following the event, the participants were given documents collection and books related to Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh prepared by Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The organizers of the event were Azerbaijan`s permanent representation to the United Nations and the Harriman Institute.
