Investigators join efforts to solve priest`s murder.

MOSCOW, November 22 (Itar-Tass) - Investigators will make every effort
to solve the murder of Priest Daniil Sysoyev, shot dead in his church in
Moscow on Thursday night, the head of the Moscow Criminal Investigation
Department, Anatoly Bagmet, told Tass on Saturday.
He said the department together with the Moscow's Main Internal
Affairs Directorate are doing tremendous job to solve the crime. All
measures to solve the murder will be taken, Bagmet said, declining to
speak about first results of the investigation.
On Saturday, hundreds of Christians of different nationalities came to
the church where the priest had been killed to say farewell. The funeral
will take place on Monday.
The religious funeral service will be held in the St. Peter and Paul
Cathedral in Yasenevo. Archbishop Arseny of Istra will lead the service
from 10:00.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will arrive there at about
noon to pay his last respects to the killed clergyman. Daniil was dean at
the St. Apostle Thomas church, where the crime was committed.
A continuous religious service has been held in the church since
Friday night. Parishioners replacing one another read psalms and pray for
the killed priest. Roses were laid near the altar, and many flowers were
put outside the church near the entrance.
Father Daniil was loved very much in the parish. He was very kind and
attentive to each person, parishioners say. He was known not only in
Moscow, but all over Russia as an active missionary. He had open disputes
with Muslims, Old Believers and sectarians. Many after the discussions
adopted Christ's teaching and were baptised.
Daniil Sysoyev was killed by an unidentified man who shot at the
priest and his assistant in the church. Choirmaster Vladimir Strelbitsky
who was wounded in the attack underwent an operation and remains in
hospital now.
