N. Korea, Russia agree to cooperate in scientific research: report
SEOUL, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- North Korea and Russia have signed a "protocol" to
cooperate in the field of science through the end of 2011, the North's media said
Saturday.
The "protocol" was signed at the Siberian city of Novosibirsk on Wednesday
between Ri Song-uk, vice president of North Korea's State Academy of Science and
his Russian counterpart, Valerii Kuleshov, from the Siberian branch of the
Russian Academy of Science, the North's Korean Central News Agency said in a
report, monitored in Seoul.
The two-paragraph report gave no other details, including what exactly the
"protocol" referred to but it usually means a supplementary international
agreement.
