SAPURA, ALL SET TO IMPRESS VISITORS AT LIMA 09
LANGKAWI (Malaysia), Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The Sapura Group, a leading
home-grown technology provider, is all set to impress visitors to the Langkawi
International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA 09) exhibition.
Its Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Shahril Shamsuddin said,
the group, via Sapura Secure Technologies, would showcase its ability to
integrate various types of secured communication network.
He said the centerpiece of the group's showcase would be its innovative
home-grown 1Network system.
"The Group is pleased to showcase at a premier exhibition such as LIMA our
secured communication capabilities including 1Network that will enable our
customers to maximise utilisation of assets," he said in a statement here
Monday.
Sapura will also display its Intergrated Command and Control (ICC)
solutions.
Visitors to LIMA 09, beginning Tuesday until Dec 5, will also have the
opportunity to witness the flight demonstration of Sapura's own Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles (UAVs).
Shahril said the world-class UAV was another of the group's proprietary
technology which has since received positive response from foreign customers.
He also said since 1997 the Sapura Group has invested more that RM200
million (US$59 million) on research and development activities in Malaysia's ICT
sector and also beyond the Malaysian shores.
"The company have been aggresively developing our R&D capabilities in
Australia.
"Subsequent to our success in the Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) for
maritime deployment, we have also developed the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in
Western Australia the past two years," he said.
