Nurly kosh programme for repatriates

Tashkent, December 01, 2009, Khabar - During the live call-in program with President which happened on 13th of November, prospects of “Nurly kosh” state programme were discussed

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that this programme, connected with the welcome and social security of Kazakh repatriates from abroad will be continued. During its years of independence, Kazakhstan has received 1 million 200 thousand repatriates, with almost half of them coming from Uzbekistan.

Suleimen Bukharbayev, writer:
- Thanks to the wise policy of Nursultan Nazarbayev, repatriates are constantly receiving assistance. My relatives moved from Uzbekistan to the Saryagash district and the city council allocated a plot of land for the construction of a house and laid gas for them. They are very happy about it.

Tursymat Kalybayev, Uzbek Labour veteran:
- We were very happy to know that the Nurly kosh programme will be continued and our fellow countrymen will receive the necessary assistance. Although we live in Uzbekistan, our children are studying in their homeland and some of them were able to find a job there.

As part of the Nurly kosh programme, Kazakhstan has allocated 500 places for those who want to receive higher and professional education.

Torebai Sarsenbayev, chairman, Navoi regional Kazakh national culture centre:
- Our graduates are currently studying in the Shymkent People’s Friendship University, the Syrdarya Institute in Zhetysu and others. They are receiving a 10,000 tenge scholarship and are provided with hostels.

Kazakh people in Uzbekistan are well-informed about how Kazakhstan helps repatriates. Representatives of the Kazakh expatriate community said that they are sure that Kazakhstan has a wise migration policy, which will bear fruit in the future.
