SOUTH KOREAN NAVY KEEN TO PROMOTE MILITARY EXCHANGE WITH MALAYSIA
LANGKAWI (Malaysia), Dec 1 (Bernama) -- The South Korean navy is keen to
promote military exchange with Malaysia as part of efforts to strengthen
bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a statement issued here Tuesday, it said it wanted to uphold friendly
relations with the Royal Malaysian Navy and other navies in the region.
"Through this international exhibition, the South Korean navy is expected to
promote military exchange with Malaysia and establish strong friendship by
actively taking part in the international fleet review and international
maritime conference, the defence industry exhibition and ship visits," it said.
The South Korean navy, which is a regular exhibitor at the Langkawi
International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), has dispatched its
ships five times to LIMA since 1991.
This year, Admiral Jung Ho Sub, chief of personnel at the South Korean navy
headquarters, is heading the delegation.
