SOME 5,760 RI HAJJ PILGRIMS RETURN HOME WEDNESDAY
Jeddah, Dec 1 (ANTARA) - A total of 5,760 Indonesian hajj pilgrims divided into 14 flight groups will leave King Abdul Aziz International airport in Jeddah on Wednesday for home on the first day of the hajj pilgrims return flow.
The hajj pilgrims will proceed to Jakarta, Surabaya, Solo, Banjarmasin, Makassar and Batam, Antara learned here on Tuesday.
The pilgrims who will be flown to Jakarta amounting to 1,350 people, Surabaya (1,355), Solo (1,140), Medan (455), Balikpapan (325), Banjarmasin (325), Makassar (360), and Batam (450).
Before leaving the airport, the pilgrims from Mecca would spend the night in several transit hotels in Jeddah, namely Araq Hotel, Rumasiah Hotel, Tayyar Hotel, Sama Hotel, including the Rotana Norcom Hotel.
During their transit in Jeddah, they were slated to visit the tomb of Eve, Qisas Mosque, Floating Mosque in the Red Sea and the largest shopping center in Jeddah, Qorniche Market.
The congregation were also reminded not to take things too much, also prohibited to carry Zamzam water, because it was rationed and will be provided at the arrival airports in Indonesia.
In the meantime, until Monday (Nov 30) a total of 130 Indonesian pilgrims died during the performing of worship in the Holy Land after suffering from heart disease, respiratory failure and brain hemorrhage.
In addition, a total of 6,349 hajj pilgrims from South Sumatra will arrive in Palembang on December 4, head of the regional Religious Affairs office, H Najib Haitami said.
The total number of Indonesians who performed the hajj pilgrimage this year is 192,000. They were flown from 11 embarkation airports in the country in 475 groups since October 23. ***4***
