Govt prizes for education achievements to be presented on Wed.

MOSCOW, December 2 (Itar-Tass) -- A ceremony to present prices for
education achievements will be held in the Russian government headquarters
on Wednesday, a source at the Science and Education Ministry told
Itar-Tass.

The Russian government annually awards its 20 special
one-million-rouble prizes for new achievements aimed at developing the
education system, development of education programmes, for high-quality
textbooks and aids, pedagogical skills and high results of professional
activities.
The government takes decisions on prize awarding after considering
nominations of the inter-departmental council.
