PRESIDENT HOLDS GATHERING WITH ALL GOVERNORS
Palangkaraya, Dec 2 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday evening held a gathering here with governors who will attend an All Indonesia Provincial Governments Association (APPSI) national working meeting on Thursday.
The gathering which started at 7:30 p.m. local time was held in Jayang Tingang Hall at the Central Kalimantan governor's office in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.
President Yudhoyono and his entourage arrived at Tjilik Riwut airport here on Wednesday afternoon for a two-day working visit in Central Kalimantan to open the APPSI national conference.
Soon after arriving at the airport, the president was entertained with a "Tasai Kahanjak Bawi Jahawen" traditional dance in a traditional "Pantan Timpung Raja Are Bantika" welcome ceremony.
At the gathering with all governors from throughout the country, the head of state was accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, APPSI chairman Fauzi Bowo who also Jakarta governor, and Central Kalimantan Governor Agustin Teras Narang.
The gathering was also attended by all district heads, mayors, and public figures from Central Kalimantan province.
When the president opens the APPSI national conference on Thursday morning, First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will hold a gathering with the wives of the governors and district heads and mayors of Central Kalimantan.
After the meeting with the wives of all governors, the first lady will visit a handicrafts center in Palangkaraya.
President Yudhoyono is scheduled to return to Jakarta from Palangkaraya at 12:20 pm local time on Thursday and scheduled to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta at 2 p.m.
President Yudhoyono's entourage included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan, State Minister for National Development Planning Board Armida Alisjahbana, State Minister for State Enterprises Abubakar Mustafa, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Andi Mallarangeng, Public Works Deputy Minister Hermanto Dardak, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Radjasa, Agriculture Minister Suswono, and Maritime and Fisheries Minister Fadel Muhammad.
