PRESIDENT WAITING FOR COPY OF PROSECUTOR'S DECISION ON BIBIT-CHANDRA
Jakarta, Dec 2 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has not yet received a copy of the Stop Prosecution Order (SKPP) for suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah, a presidential spokesman said.
Presidential Spokesman Julian Adrian Pasha said at the State Palace here on Wednesday that the SKPP was issued by the prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
He said that the State Palace would follow up the decision as soon as it had received a copy of the SKPP.
"After we have received a copy, we will immediately take follow up steps. Now, the president has not yet given us directives on when he would issue a presidential decision," Pasha said.
The same thing was also expressed by the president's special legal staff Denny Indrayana. "We are still waiting for the SKPP copy from the prosecutor's office," he said.
He said that the State Palace had prepared a draft presidential decree to reinstate Bibit and Chandra to their KPK posts.
"It has been prepared. The draft is even always taken by the president's secretary to be signed by the head of state anytime," Indrayana said.
