DUSHANBE, December 2 (Itar-Tass) --The President of Tajikistan Emomali
Rakhmon called on every family in the country to buy $700 worth of Rogun
HPP shares.
The President of Tajikistan upon declaring Rogun HPP "a construction
site of national significance and a front of creative labour" called once
again on the population of the republic to more actively invest their own
savings into the construction of this HPP. Speaking in the Sogdi region in
front of the activists of the republic president Rakhmon emphasized, in
order to more quickly commission the first stage of the Rogun HPP some
$600 mln are needed. "And to collect this sum is quite tangible, provided
every family purchases $700 worth of HPP shares (less than 3,000 somani)",
he said. The speech of the president is published on the Tajikistani
presidential web-portal on Wednesday.
