International forum of soldiers-internationalists
Astana, December 03, 2009 (Khabar) - An international forum of veterans' organizations, soldiers-internationalists in Central Asia, the Baltics, Russia, USA and Kazakhstan has taken place in Astana with the support of the party "Nur Otan" party.
It was organized by the Union of Veterans of Afghanistan and Committee on Affairs of Soldiers-internationalists under the CIS Council of Heads of Governments. First deputy chairman of the party "Nur Otan", Nurlan Nigmatulin has noted Kazakhstan is the first country, which began to solemnly celebrate the 20th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, and main merit of it belongs to the head of state. The first large campaign was held this February in Almaty, 65th anniversary of victory in World War II is ahead and internationalists gathered in Astana to discuss preparation for this big holiday. At the end of forum the memorandum on cooperation of veteran organizations of CIS and Central Asia has been signed.
Ruslan Aushev, chairman of the Committee on affairs of soldiers-internationalists under the CIS Council of Heads of Governments, the hero of the Soviet Union:
- We understand that today, the first groups of veterans, World War II veterans is old today. Unfortunately, the youngest when he was 18 years old in 1945, today is 83 and they have physical difficulties to carry out those issues related to military patriotic work, we were just talking about that gently grabbing of the baton.
