SYRIAN MINISTER CALLS ON DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- Dr Bouthaina Shaaban, the
minister/political and media advisor to the Syrian Arab Republic president, on Wednesday called on Deputy Foreign Minister Senator A. Kohilan Pillay.

According to a statement issued by the foreign ministry here Thursday, they
discussed political and economic issues of both nations during the meeting.

It said Pillay also took the opportunity to reiterate the excellent state of
bilateral relations between Malaysia and Syria in various fields.

"The Syrian minister also noted the excellent state of bilateral cooperation
between both countries and the upward trend of cooperation in various fields
such as trade, investment, infrastructure development, education and tourism
over the recent years," added the statement.
