MALAYSIAN PM VISITS THAILAND FROM 7 TO 9 DEC

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak
will make an official visit to Thailand to attend the 4th Malaysia-Thailand
Annual Consultation with Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in Bangkok
from 7 to 9 Dec.

Najib will be accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, eight
Cabinet Ministers and two Deputy Ministers.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement here Saturday, a welcoming
ceremony will be held for him followed by the annual consultation meeting
between the two prime ministers and their respective delegates on Dec 8, while a
dinner will be hosted in the evening.

"The annual consultation provides a good opportunity for both prime
ministers to discuss ways to further strengthen the state of bilateral relations
between Malaysia and Thailand. Both prime ministers are expected to touch on
areas of cooperation of mutual benefit," the statement said.

It said Najib will travel to Narathiwat and tour the province together with
Abhisit and they will attend a ceremony to rename the bridge which links Bukit
Bunga and Ban Buketa to its new name, the Friendship Bridge the following
day.
