S-E Asia to become a new market for Kazakh grain export.

ASTANA, December 7 (Itar-Tass) -- Southeast Asia will become a new
market for Kazakhstan's grain export. Such a possibility appeared after China gave its consent to the transit of grain from Kazakhstan, First Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukayev said a meeting of the government of the republic on Monday.

According to Shukayev, the final document of the fifth meeting of the
Kazakh-Chinese Committee on Cooperation included the decision to "instruct
the Ministry of Agriculture and railways of China to urgently study the
possibility of transit of up to three million tons of grain via China to
Southeast Asia."
According to preliminary data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the
republic, the harvest of grain in the net weight will amount this year to
20 million tons, out of which 10 million tons are planned to be exported.
Kazakhstan is among six biggest exporters of grain in the world.
