45,000 been detained for illegal entry into Iran since March
TEHRAN, Dec. 9 (MNA) -- Police have arrested around 45,000 people for illegal entry into the country in the current Iranian year which began March 21, border police commander Hossein Zolfaqari said on Wednesday.
On average 600 people have been detained every day for illegally crossing Iranian borders from all sides, Zolfaqari explained.
He said in order to boost border security border police officers will receive necessary training, Zolfaqari noted.
Under the new plan border police will be equipped with modern electronic devices and the speed for increasing security and monitoring borders would be doubled in the near future, the commander added.
