      LANDSLIDE HITS MOUNT JAMBANGAN, KOTA BARU
Kotabaru, June 5 (ANTARA) - Incessant heavy rains over the past few days triggered a flash flood and a landslide on  Mount Jambangan in  a transmigration area in Kumang-kumang, Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, on Thursday morning.
"We were forced to send students home (because of the landslide), and local residents were also panic-stricken and tried to save themselves," Thoriko, principal of Kumang-kumang elementary school said on the phone on Thursday.
The landslide has scared local residents, who were mostly transmigrants, he said.
Deputy District Head of Kotabaru Fatizanolo said that he would go to the disaster's site to closely observe the situation.
