Two Quran translations hit German bookstores

TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (MNA) -- Two new German versions of the Holy Quran was recently released in Germany.
Anaconda Publications republished the translation of the Holy Quran by the German translator and Oriental language scholar Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866) which is considered as one the most powerful German translations of the Quran.
However, Rückert’s translation is word-by-word that omits many Quranic concepts and is not a truly accurate translation of the Holy Quran.
The Afghan translator Ahmad Milad Karimi has rendered a new German version of the Quran which has been released by Herder Publications.
This version also was edited by the University of Freiburg’s professor and religious scholar Bernhard Uhde who also penned an introduction for it.
