Close ties between Iran, Azerbaijan benefit regional states: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, Dec.14 (MNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the close relationship between Iran and Azerbaijan is to the benefit of the two nations and regional states.
Ahmadinjead made the remarks in a meeting with the Azerbaijani foreign minister here on Monday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran sees no limitation for the expansion of bilateral ties, and Azerbaijan’s progress will make the Iranian nation happy,” he added.
Ahmadinejad also noted that the current world political situation necessitates ever closer ties between Tehran and Baku.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister stated that their close bilateral ties benefit both nations politically and economically and Baku is interested in strengthening ties with Tehran.
Mammadyarov also said that Azerbaijan will vote against any resolution against Iran.
