BY ZULHILMI SUPAAT

VIENTIANE, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian contingent comprising 370
athletes and 120 officials were declared free from any prohibited substances,
drugs or discipline problems said Chef-de-Mission (CDM) Dr Ramlan Abd
Aziz.

With only three days left for the Games to end, I have not received any
reports involving our athletes or officials, said Dr Ramlan.

"If anybody was involved, I, as the CDM, will be the first one to receive a
report. But till today I have not received any," he told Bernama here Tuesday.

At the Korat SEA Games in Thailand two years ago, a Malaysian polo player
had tested positive for a banned substance although he had helped the Malaysian
team to win the gold medal in the event.

According to a Bangkok Post report, two other athletes who had tested
positive were from Thailand, namely Suriya Prasathinpimai who won a bronze in
boxing and Supachai Jitchamroon (volleyball player), Vietnam's Dinh Thi Phoung
Thanh (women's boxing) and a hepthathlete from the Philippines, Ativeza
Marcasia.
