CIMAHI POLICE SEARCH FOR MUNARMAN IN BATUJAJAR FORESTS
Bandung, June 7 (ANTARA) - Cimahi police assisted by local authorities on Saturday scoured forests in the Batujajar area, Cimahi district, in a search for Munarman, a key suspect in the Monas Square incident in Jakarta, following reports somebody had shot him to death and left his body in a wooded part of Batujajar. Adj Senior Commissioner Eko Budi, chief of the Cimahi district police, said he had ordered the search after receiving information at 10.30 am that Munarman had been shot and his body was to be found in a forest in the Batujajar area. "But until Saturday afternoon, we have not yet found the body," he said, adding the search would be continued. He confirmed there were large forests in the Batujajar area and said it would probably take time to find Munarman there, dead or alive. But West Java Police Chief Insp Gen Susno Duadji, when asked about the report Munarman had been shot, denied police had received such information. "It's not true. I have checked with several district-level police units, including the Cimahi unit," he said. According to the information the Cimahi police had allegedly received, Munarman's bullet-riddled body had been found in a rubber forest in the Batujajar area. It was unclear, however, where the information had come from.
