M'SIA AND IRELAND SIGN PROTOCOL TO AVOID DOUBLE TAXATION
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Ireland Wednesday signed a
protocol amending the agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the
prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income at Putrajaya.
Objective of the protocol is to amend the article on exchange of
information, the ministry said in a statement.
"This protocol resulted in Malaysia having six treaty partners, namely
Brunei, the United Kingdom, France, San Marino, the Netherlands and Ireland
which is in line with the internationally agreed tax standards," it said.
The protocol was signed by the Treasury secretary-general Dr Wan Abdul Aziz
Wan Abdullah and Ireland's ambassador to Malaysia, Eugene Hutchinson.
It was witnessed by Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah.
