UK has no evidence showing Iran or Syria connections to terrorists: British FM
TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (MNA) -- British Foreign Minister David Miliband has said that Britain has no evidence showing that Iran or Syria are supporting terrorist activities.
In an interview with the London-based Arabic language newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Miliband said, “Britain has no evidence of Iran and Syria funding, equipping, or harboring terrorists.”
“What is important to us is that Iraq’s neighbors respect the sovereignty of the country,” Miliband told Asharq Al-Awsat in London on Thursday on the sidelines of the Human Rights in Iraq conference.
He went on to say that candidates in Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary election are only representatives of the Iraqi people not representatives of any individual or foreign country.
