BERNAMA OFFERS NEWS SERVICE VIA BLACKBERRY

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency
(Bernama) will channel more news content through the Blackberry phone service
compared to only news briefs via the short-message system (SMS).

Its Media, Portal and Photo Marketing senior manager, Maznah Khalil said
through the service, the public would be able to receive bona fide and accurate
news at a reasonable cost.

"This service is very useful for those who have no time to surf the Internet
and at the same time want to access news fast," she said here Friday.

The charge for the Blackberry news service is between RM100 (US$30) and
RM150 (US$44) monthly.

"The service users will be among the first to receive the latest bona fide
news from inside and outside the country with more content than the SMS texts,"
said Maznah.

She said at the moment, Blackberry usage was still low in Malaysia but would
be extensive eventually, just like the popular SMS and Internet services.

"The Blackberry news service is a new innovation from Bernama in meeting the
needs of consumers in this new technology age."

She said besides that, the Bernama online news portal, Bernama.com, also had
plans to increase the number of languages used from the Malay Language, English,
Mandarin and Arabic language currently in use so as to reach a bigger audience
locally and internationally.
