URGENT-Elections to Uzbek parliament lower house pronounced valid.
TASHKENT, December 27 (Itar-Tass) - The elections to the lower
(legislative) chamber of the Uzbek parliament were pronounced valid.
"A total of 57.3 percent of the electorate went to the polls on Sunday
at 11.00, which is much more than 33 percent, necessary to pronounce the
elections valid," the press centre of the republican Central Election
Commission told Itar-Tass.
