GEORGIA INSISTS ON ABKHAZIAN RAILWAYS RESTORATION UNDER INT'L CONTROL

TBILISI, June 10 (Itar-Tass) - Georgia does not object to the restoration of the Abkhazian section of the Georgian Railway, but this process should be effectuated under international control, President Mikhail Saakashvili told the pro-presidential Rustavi-2 television. "Earlier, Georgia made a proposal to Russia to get the European Union engaged in the process and to have a bidding contest where European companies could put up their bids for restoration works under international control and with due observance of international mechanisms," Saakashvili said.
