LITHUANIAN PRESIDENT TO FOCUS ON EU POLICY,

VILNIUS, June 10 (Itar-Tass) - Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus begins a state visit to Slovakia on Tuesday. During his two-day visit, Adamkus plans to discuss the European Union' s Eastern politics and relations with the West Balkan countries, the presidential press service said. During his meetings with Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic, Prime Minister Robert Fico, Speaker of the parliament Miroslav Ciz, the Lithuanian president plans to discuss issues of energy security, cooperation of the Baltic states with the Vyshegrad Group countries, and implementation of the Lisbon agreement. Lithuania is interested in Slovakia's experience in the changeover to the euro. The visit's agenda envisages a Lithuania-Slovakia business forum. The parties are expected to sign agreements on cooperation in the sphere of science and technologies, legal interaction, protection of confidential information, and a memorandum on cooperation between the ministries of economics of the two countries.
