Fishing trawler fire kills four in Sakahlin port.

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, December 29 (Itar-Tass) - Four people have died in
a ship fire in the Sakhalin port of Korsakov. The fire on a fishing
trwaler started at around 04:35 local time on Tuesday, a source at the
Ministry of Emergency Situations department for the Sakhalin region told
Itar-Tass.
By the tiome the fire crews arrived at the scene the trawler's topside
had been covered by thick smoke. More than 38 firefighters and the Atlas
rescue ship took part in fighitng the blaze that had spread to an area of
70 square meters.
The Tropik-1 fishing vessel was moored at berth when the fire broke
out. There were twelve people onboard, according to preliminary reports.
The causes and circumstances of the fire are now being established.
