FM, EU official discuss joint cooperation, regional developments

SANA'A, June 10 (Saba)- Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi discussed on Tuesday with official of Foreign Relations for Mediterranean Sea and the Middle East Countries in the European Commission Debridil Moral issues of bilateral cooperation and the latest local and international developments.

The European official praised efforts exerted by Yemen to solve
problems facing the region, specially the Yemeni initiative to solve
the current crisis between Fatah and Hamas.

He affirmed commitment of the EU to support Yemen encounter economic challenges and boost democracy march, comprehensive reforms program and accession to GCC countries.

For his part, al-Qirbi welcomed visit of the EU official for it
represents continuation of dialogue and cooperation with the EU,
affirming appreciation of Yemen for development assistance offered
by the EU.

He highlighted Yemen's efforts to reinforce democracy and protect
freedom of expression as well as efforts of the Yemeni government to
carry out amendments to Election Law and its will hold dialogue with
opposition parties.
