Yemen, Egypt launch joint committee meetings


CAIRO, June 10 (Saba) - The Yemeni-Egyptian Joint Committee on
Tuesday launched the 7th round of its meetings in the Egyptian
capital Cairo.

The meetings, to be co-chaired by Minister of Trade and Industry
Yahya al-Mutawakel and Egyptian Minister of International
Cooperation Faiza Abu Naja, will be dealing with means of finding
real partnership between Yemen and Egypt in economic field,
establishing joint companies and activating the role of
Yemeni-Egyptian businessmen in enhancing economic cooperation ties
between the two countries.

Al-Mutawakel hailed the level of trade exchange between Yemen and
Egypt that has developed in the period of 2003-2007.

"The trade exchange between the two countries has already increased in the latest years but we are looking forward for further economic cooperation," said al-Mutawakel.

Abu Naja said the meeting of the joint committee will come out with signing 13 cooperation agreements and protocols and executive
programs. She said the two countries are planning to establish a
joint fishing company and another company for medics industry.
