Certain foreign politicians are influenced by Zionist media: Leader

TEHRAN, Dec. 31 (MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the remarks made by certain foreign politicians about the Ashura unrest in Tehran are influenced by Zionist media outlets.

These statements are made due to their vicious intention to distort the truth, he said in Tehran on Wednesday evening.

Describing the current governing system of the world as unjust, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that humanity is currently surrounded by wrong cultures and systems, and injustice is a common practice around the world.

Injustice and discrimination are intrinsic components of Western capitalism, he opined.

Pointing to the efforts made by the Islamic Republic to establish a just international order, he expressed hope that the “banner of justice” would be raised all over the world.

In line with the policy to establish justice in the world, the Iranian nation should pursue two major objectives, he added.

The first should be the creation of a “just model” of government and the second should be the introduction of this model to the world, he said.

On this path, perseverance and maintaining faith in God are also vital, he asserted.

If some weak people had not deviated from the right path, today the country’s material and spiritual situation would have been much better, he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the scientific movement of the country an essential and urgent necessity and said acquiring knowledge and striving on God’s path are important obligations of the youth.
